Responsibilities and Duties
- Be on time for work, follow your schedule, and be prepared for your jobs
- Work with the office staff to provide J&M and customer’s updates on current and future jobs
- Create and submit equipment and parts orders to colleagues in warehouse and purchasing divisions
- Create detailed work orders daily, and then follow up and submit to accounting for invoicing if necessary
- Perform a thorough review of your finished work and check functionality prior to leaving the job site
- Always train the customer how to use newly installed equipment
- Utilize other Technicians via phone and in-person when you are unsure of something
- Continue to grow your expertise and efficiency related to the installation of pumps, motors, panels, filters, chlorinators, heaters, timers, valves, related plumbing and electrical, and all other types of varying brands and sizes of commercial aquatic, pool and fountain equipment
- Leave the job sight cleaner than you found it. Remove all trash and debris from theย job site
- Generate additional revenue by diagnosing equipment during service visits and sending customers estimates on optional upgrades
- Always create an estimate(s) on potential work and email it to the customer after your services visits
- When diagnosing equipment, provide the optimal solution to the customer, even if it is more expensive than a short term repair
- Stay up to date on industry trends and new products.
Customer Service
- Call your customer prior to showing up for a scheduled service visit
- Always knock on the door and introduce yourself prior to starting your work
- Always leave a J&M Service Slip to show the customer the work completed
- Always leave an invoice and try to collect payment at the job site
- Communicate with customers to ensure their total satisfaction with your repair work.
- Show respect to our customers and all J&M Employees at all times
- Respond to and resolve customers’ emergencies when they arise but check with dispatch prior to adjusting your schedule. Loss Prevention
- Keep track of your tools. It’s hard to get the job done without them. Inform J&M Supervisor immediately if a tool is damaged or lost so we can replace it
- Drive safely and always inform your supervisor in the event of an accident or traffic violation

- Use company-provided software and lines of communication as intended by J&M (see attached)
Requirements
- Able to demonstrate satisfactory competency
- Valid license with clean driving history
- Must pass background check
- Be able to lift a minimum of 100 pounds
