So youโve decided to get a design for your poolscape project. A J&M pool design is customized to fit your lifestyle and starts with the following basic questions:
-Who will be using the pool?
Family size (even the dog) and friend usage will impact the size and features you may want to include! If there will be slides and diving boards, youโll need a full-size diving envelope. Maybe you plan on throwing big parties and want an oversized hot tub! If your son is an aspiring Olympic swimmer, we can discuss options for a swim-in-place system or make sure we design a full-length lap pool. Special access accommodations may be requested for your mother-in-law who needs the pool for physical therapy after her hip surgery. We know all about adding specific features that will make the experience for your family and friends more enjoyable.
-What features and materials are most important to you?
Regardless of the pool we design (and potentially build), we guarantee it will cool you off on a hot summer day, encourage social gatherings with friends and family, and will forever be a place where great memories are made. However, we want to make sure we provide a personalized swimming experience. We will provoke thought about the amenities inside, and around, the pool you may, or may not, think of incorporating, along with the available materials we can use. The same pool project (size and shape) can vary exponentially in price based on the additional features and materials that are selected.
-Where does the pool make the most sense at your home?
When it comes to design, there are two very different thought processes. Engineers think about functionality, whereas most architects focus on style. As pool designers, we take both functionality and style into serious consideration. A poolscape project will take up significant space and we want to know what else you have in mind. You may have other needs for the yard, such as a dog run, or lawn space for your future major league pitcher! Maybe you’re considering that double garage with the game room that needs to be added to the future plans as well! Something as simple as where the sun rises and sets will have an impact on where we place the pool (or recommend tree removal), seating areas, and sunshelves. To know the perfect spot for the swimming pool in your backyard, we have to consider all of these things in our site plan.
-Why do you want a pool?
Understanding your โwhyโ helps our team personalize the pool to be just what you wanted in the first place. Many designers miss these questions and build a pool that may fit the house, but miss the boat on what you really want! Our customers build pools for all kinds of reasons. We want to know all about them so we can customize your design with a personal touch.
